B&W vs. Color: Part II

Part II!!  These images had something more to lend visually once converted to B&W.

“When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!”

-Ted Grant

Though these are not all photographs of people, I still feel there is a very important “soul” quality about any B&W image.   I feel I accomplished that with these photo’s and I hope you will too!

B&W vs. Color: Part I

I’ve mentioned my love for Black and White images and how difficult it sometimes is for me to find the right photo’s that I feel will really take on new life once converted.  Twice I have shared selected B&W conversions with the idea that I would maybe share the colored counterparts of those images and here is part i!

These images are the Black and White conversions that didn’t shout out to me once I stripped them to their bare bones.  They are all beautiful in their own respects, I even love some of these black and white images, but they still didn’t take me to the level needed to not look back at the original color image.  Maybe you will see them differently.

Classic Black and White

I love color photography, but I have a passion for beautiful black and white images.  I decided to push myself to make some good black and whites from images that I really didn’t think would be better than their color version, on most of these I was really surprised at how well they turned out and others I still prefer in color.  Surely I will post the colored photos at some point so you can appreciate their beauty, but for now here are the classic versions!!
